Planning your wedding ceremony

Your wedding ceremony should feel like you – personal, joyful and full of meaning. That’s exactly what a Humanist wedding offers.

Unlike a religious or civil service, a Humanist ceremony has no set script.

Instead, I’ll work with you to create something completely bespoke – a celebration of your love, values and story, held wherever feels most special to you, from a beach or garden to a barn, woodland or town hall.

Why choose a Humanist wedding?

Humanist weddings are perfect for couples who want:

  • A non-religious but deeply meaningful ceremony

  • The freedom to get married in any setting – indoors or outdoors

  • A celebrant who gets to know you personally

  • A ceremony that reflects your relationship, not a template

  • To celebrate with loved ones even if the legal bit happens separately

What to expect

Whether you’ve got a Pinterest board bursting with ideas or no clue where to start, I’ll guide you through every step. Together, we’ll:

  • Chat about your story – how you met, the big moments, what you love about each other, and what marriage means to you

  • Explore meaningful extras like readings, poems, music and symbolic rituals
    (such as handfasting)

  • Involve your loved ones in ways that feel natural and inclusive

  • Build a ceremony that feels relaxed, warm and totally ‘you’

I’ll write your script from scratch and work with you until every word feels right – fun, heartfelt, and true to your voice. I’m also sensitive to any complex family dynamics, faith backgrounds or accessibility needs – the goal is for everyone to feel welcomed and included.

Ready to create something wonderful together?

If you think I could be the right celebrant for you – or just want to ask a few questions – I’d love to hear from you.
